The dent that "Never Happened" is one that you can fix with out sandpaper. :icon_whee:

I did a big goof last summer when I was working on my bike. :icon_bang:

I have a big azzed dog. He has big azzed dog toys. I got him a KONG ball and if you know what that is you know it's substantial.
If you don't know what it is - think of a rubber mallet that they made into a ball. It's like tire rubber only really hard and the dog can't really destroy it... he's been working on it for a long time.

We were doing our usual thing - some pitch and fetch. I usually throw them under hand and with some juice to get some real altitude on the throws.

So I have this slimy (dog slobber is slippery stuff) rubber cannon ball that I wing but - it slipped out and WHACK the front fender on my bike was thumped!! :icon_eek:
A big dent the size of the ball... OH SHIP!!!! :icon_evil: - and I didn't say ship. :icon_sos:

I was heart broken - the dent looked awful. :icon_crry:

Luckily it was on the curve and I had a wooden dowel the same size as the curve. I was able to wedge the dowel against the tire and push the fender back into perfect shape... Wow - talk about lucky!! :icon_laughing:
Needless to say I stopped playing around the bike after that. :icon_redface:

It's Friday - hope you all have a great weekend. :icon_mrgreen:

My mishaps like that always cost me $$$$$$$$$! Great thinking and improvising to pop the dent out! :icon_thumbsup:

Got a story kinda like that
Long time ago came out of this store and someone had hit my 88 pickup truck in the bed between rear wheel and front of the bed. The damge was on the lower half.

Had insurance with $500 deductable? I didn't even call the insurance co up. I left it alone for a week and then decided to get to work jackin" pryin and using body hammer and I still can't believe how good it turned out....if I didn't tell someone... they wouldn't have known

Like it when things turn out like that!! :icon_laughing:

The shock of what it might cost only hit me AFTER I fixed it... I was so broken up because I "hurt" my bike. Like stepping on the dog in the dark - you feel really bad right away. Only hopping you didn't do anything to kill it. I went instantly into first aid mode and grabbed the handle of the rubber mallet cause it was close to the right size then after seeing that I might be able to help my baby... um - I mean fix my bike - I searched out the dowel I had that turned out to fit perfectly. I think my bike was dented for all of 5 minutes.

After I fixed it - I sat down and stared at that fender for a while, it was then - I thought about how much it would have cost to fix-replace... Yeah - definitely a lucky ending.

That reminds me of the one where buddy number 1 borrowed buddy 2's truck to pick up lumber.
Buddy 1 goes to leave the lumber yard and forgets the truck is a stick - hits the starter and the truck jumps forward into the rail and breaks the directional lens. He goes back into the store buys some glue and fixes the lens right there in the lot. Returns the truck and finally tells buddy 2 that he did it only after buddy 2 sells the truck... many years later :icon_laughing:
