I have bought a few bikes from a couple of different dealers and bought parts and other goodies from many others.

No problem that would make me want to call them out as being a bad dealer.

Had a pushy salesman on first Harley and a jerk financial guy, and they almost had me walking out on the deal...but I wanted the bike...have not been back to that dealer since...its far from me,but if they had something I wanted I look into it, just won't buy parts or anything I can get at another dealer!

I'm lucky to have so many Harley dealers within a hundred or so miles!! all of Kansas cities dealers and a few other!!

You are preaching to the choir. If you finally find a dealership who treats you well, great service and good people in general you're lucky.

I think a lot is who the owner is and who the service manager is. I have 3 dealerships in a about a 60 mile radius. Fixing to go another 20 miles further to yet another one where a personal friend works. Its just such a PITA when the closest one is 10 miles away....

I stopped going to dealerships for about 17-18 years between 1989 and 2007. I liimped along okay..was raising a family then so wasn't riding to far away those days.

I have to give it up and say thanks to my local HD Dealership

Orange County Harley Davidson in Irvine, CA :icon_thumbsup:

Every time I've ever needed a part they always had it.
The folks down there are nice and friendly.
I'm lucky to be able to do my work but they have my parts.

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....

I am loyal to good dealerships. Texan harley in Conroe Texas has treated me good. I had an issue with something the service manager told me once, but after owning the current bike for a while I see why he said it. A friend of mine has been happy with them as well.

I have experienced the high pressure sales at another dealership. I get it that they are trying to make a living and someone taught them to sell like that. these days I just tell them from the start how I roll. Tell me your best price and I will decide from there. If they play games I can buy the bike elsewhere.

And Kelley Blue book and NADA helps to a point with the process. The shit salesmen are so obvious, lol. Most of them here seem really good at the bait and switch. Get you in negoitiations with a decent initial sounding offer and then once it starts they conveniantly don't remember stating the initial offer. They kill me. They must think everyone is huckleberry brain dead stupid.

Also too the level of reliability vasilates here anyways. I mean the turn over rate for mechanics and service managers here is huge.
