I am in the process of planning a trip to the Ozarks for about a week this summer with a group of 6-8 people. Just wondering if anyone has any good tips or ideas where to stay? I have the planner guide and can't make out if we will be able to just stay in one place for the whole time or if we should move to different locations? We are thinking end of July or first part of Aug. If you have any good ideas where to stay or stay away from would be great. Also anything that's a must see.
Thank you

One of the tools I use very often to plan any road trips is google maps.

If you switch to street view you can see the roads from street point of view. Very helpful for checking out road conditions and scenic value.

Just zoom all the way in till you get the little man icon on the map - it will switch to street view and you can see what it looks like from your computer.

Best of luck on your trip - make sure you let us know how it went.

kam30,
I live in Lebanon, Missouri which is the northern part of the Ozarks. We are 30 minutes from Lake of the Ozarks, 50 minutes from Springfield, and 80 minutes from Branson. Are you planning on staying in Arkansas or southern Missouri?

Arkansas
The Pig Trail Hwy 23
Hot Springs
Queen Wilhelmina State Park near Mena
Eureka Springs
Buffalo River area
Jasper to Ponca
White River area
War Eagle Mill near Rogers
Norfork - cool little town

Missouri
Branson
Bull Shoals Lake
Tablerock Lake
Elephant Rock in southeastern MO
Johnson Shut-Ins
Bennett Spring State Park
Lake of the Ozarks
State Route 125 MO & AR

Hope these suggestions are helpful.

Thanks for the ideas. We will be staying in Mountain View so we should make it to a few of these places also. We are going in August so will post back then.
