I have a kuryakin wiring harness to a 5 pin plug, to the trailer hitch by the same co. I have a trailer with 4 wires that do not match up to the bike harness. bike...(parking,left and right turn, and brake.) the trailer (parking, left and right turn, and ground wire) I can add a ground wire to the bike connector 5 pin. the trailer is led lighting; will the brake light work with the turn signal wiring? (as part of the kuryakin wiring harness?)

Not familiar with that specific harness but if you need a brake light circuit and it isn't in there then it probably wont work... just a rule of thumb....

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....

Apparently you bought 2 different wiring harnesses from the same company ? See if they provide a adapter that converts your 2 different wiring harness configurations.I've got to go to work but I'll try to hunt the plugs website down after work and see if I can find a solution. :icon_smoking:

cranbird... the harness came with the trailer pre wired,It is not a kuryakin company product. I put a trailer hitch and harness on the bike and then went looking for a trailer that I liked. I guess they (the co. that manufactured the trailer) were expecting, that the bike owner would wire a connector into the bikes taillight assembly, which would include brake and turn signal function wired to left and right correctly. The kuryakin harness wires right into the bike harness no cutting or splicing. "Expensive and Fast". The bike is wired with l.e.d. bulbs I have sent questions to both co.s ; it was the holiday weekend and I haven't heard back yet...perhaps later this week. :icon_bang:

thanks Kenny

cranebird called kuryakyn (correct spelling) the simple way to resolve my problem, is to buy a $40 wiring insert that will shift the brake function over to the turn signals. it will go thru the little black box send a brake signal to the non-working turn signal and allow the initiated function of a turn signal to continue working, on the other side. If there is no turn signal being requested, and the brake is set the tail lights will act appropriately. :icon_cheesygrin:

Alot of times the 6th wire is usually just an extra outlet you hook direct for a auxillery hot wire that has power when the ignition switch is off. I am glad you got it figured out. :icon_thumbsup: They have the same type of relay switches for sportsters to run the brake lights through the turn signals like the Nightster model uses. :icon_toocool: Ivan

Sometime, could you post some pictures so we can see this set up ?
