I just checked the oil - after 800 + miles - still clear. I guess I really scrubbed out all the crud!!


I've been warming the bike up for a longer period when it's cold - seems to make the seals on the bottom of the jugs leak less.

I notice that sometimes it's harder to start - it used to kick over first loop or two of the starter, now if its been running and I shut it down, it may take 8 cycles to kick over.

Running hard @ 85 out on the highway it still gets over 40mpg (windshield off).

I couldn't find my pop-rivet gun... was able to borrow one from my friend.
I finally got the medallion back on - with official HD rivets!!

On our last ride I got a chance to check my mileage.
89.5 miles / 1.68 gallons = 53.27 mpg... and yeah I triple checked my math. We did some stop and go then 55 mph roads.

I used to get 38 mpg around town and some highway. 45 highway. I once got over 50mpg but I had to draft a semi to get it.
