If you can get the report link to open up there is a interesting financial prediction for the MOCO:

https://ideamechanic.blogspot.com/2013/1 ... idson.html

If not let me know and I will try to C/P page by page.

The author is so anti - Harley that what ever he wrote was just so negative and biased that I found it hard to see any points he was trying to make.

I see lots of younger guys & gals buying new HD bikes - every color and creed - so his BS about all of the (old white guy) Harley riders getting old and dying off is just non-sense.

Harley is and will be the premium and standard all others aspire to be.

Long Live HD!! :icon_thumbsup:

The article doesn't make sense. The chart I'm unsure what that was about. I can tell you living in a minority neighborhood I'm seeing Harley's all over the place. Maybe MOCO turn him down for a lone.

Whomever wrote that is an idiot. I see all kinds of folks on HD's... not just the white devil. If a person is going to give a logical unbiased financial assessment of a company, then it has to be backed up with facts. Big money knows how to make big money.... 83% of the float is owned by institutions.

All companies have to evolve to stay alive. As long as they listen to the market and evolve thier awesome product they will be fine.

I see how kids these days look at my bike - just like I did when I was their age - cool is still cool and HD's are always going to be cool. :icon_smoking:

I recently purchased a 2007 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 to resell it. It only had 4000 miles on it. It's price range was around $3500 to $4500. Overall I did not see the same quality in it that I do with HD's. Before I purched my first HD I considered Kawasaki Nomad, but again the quality was not up to the same level. I was biased then and I am now, so my opinion is skewed. With that said, it would be hard to find a comparative HD in the same "new like" condition as the Shadow was for $4000... but for me if it was all the money I had, then I would buy an older HD and fix it up.

I really like the Goldwings and they are great for what they are designed for. The hayabusa's are also awesome machines. The BMW adventure bikes are hard to beat. Everyone has thier preefrences, but for me HD is my brand of preference. Before I purchased my first HD the non-HD owners tried to talk me out of getting one. Telling me how they suck and break down... all the bad things they thought about HD. Well after owning and riding a lot of miles I "know" they were wrong.

I've seen these predictions before. Usually they are from jealous idiots who don't own a Harley but deep down want one. The just post this crap to try to justify to them selves why they don't just go out and get one.
Right now with the new Sportster, Vrod and Buell lines coming out appealing to the young. Then the new lines of Big touring bikes including the new trikes putting big dents in the BMW and Goldwing sales. Moco is stronger than ever.

I do believe that the Buell line is done, been that way for 2 or 3 years. This doesn't mean I believe any of that crap about the MOCO. I have my own thoughts about corporate Harley Davidson and dealer franchises.
