Has anyone put the gear indicator on their bike? I thought it would be a good add on as I ride a lot of winding back roads and forget what gear I am in sometimes. Getting old is my excuse.
Thanks, Crash

unless you already bought it - forget about it. just do what I do. if you turn the throttle and don't get the desired results- down shift. who cares what gear you're in- you can tell when you're in first and top gear... any thing in between is just for amusement.
You can have it cheap. You can have it fast. You can have high quality. PICK ANY 2....

I don't know but I'm always trying to shift from 4th to 5th gear on my old shovelhead, the only problem is I don't have a 5 speed tranny!!! A high gear indicator would be sort of nice. As roadking mentioned, what is in between means nothing.

I'm going to do a complete 180. I think the gear indicator would be a good add on. For some reason lately I keep looking for that elusive 6th gear - LOL

For me, one of the reasons that I continue to ride HD is because the ones that I buy and/or build aren't a highly technical or overly electronic machine. And, with all respect and no offense intended, if you're on a motorcycle, you REALLY need to keep your head in the ball game and know essentially if the gear you're in is the right one! It's not based on numbers on a display...it's based on what you feel in the seat of your pants!

I'm still looking for 6th on a 5 speed!!
