I leaned some thing over the last 6 months riding with the mc group. The organizer takes TONS OF PICTURES & he has video camera on his helmet - it reduces the vibrations and makes a cleaner pic.

With the digital cameras - and - a 32 gig chip - over a thousand pics + videos.

MY point - I've gone back and watched some of the videos of the earlier trips and it is pretty amazing the feeling of re-experiencing the road - For such and epic trip as yours - YOU MUST - make sure YOU are in the loop. You can't miss this opportuiny.... cause I really really want to see the pics/videos from that trip!! :icon_You_Rock:

My wife and I went on a dinner ride last Friday night up to a bar/restaurant called Marty's Place by Lake of the Ozarks. The evening temperature was perfect on the way to the lake and we put our leathers on for the ride home after dark. It was such a perfect evening.....great food, great beer, great company, and a great 70 mile ride. It was one of those times where you self reflect and say "Damn, this why we own a HD and why we ride." The exhilaration one feels while riding is very hard to explain to a non-rider.

I know exactly what you mean. It's a cool feeling when everythings falls just right.

That is some beautiful country for motorcycle touring.

I really would have enjoyed a trip to the Grand Canyon but that didn't happen cause my bike was broken. We still have some good weather left I might do a quickie overnight - gotta see if I can pull off a dogsitter....

Have you considered getting a side car or possibly a harness so your pooch can ride with you? I bet it would really enjoy riding with you.

Its a great idea but remember the sidecar ride is like learning to ride a motorcycle all over again different.

Thanks for the input - but - my dog is 100 pounds of bad attitude. He loves to ride in the car. I think it would be great to have him along but it would create a whole new set of circumstances to deal with. Plus he's getting old and his legs aren't what they used to be... he'd have a hard time getting in and out and he's too big to pick up.

Easy way out - get someone to baby sit him for a couple days. He's getting old fast - big breeds do that... won't be long before he's a memory - my heart will be broken - I'll be ready for some road time to keep my mind in a happy place without him. No more pets after this, when I got him I was in a much different place in my life, with plenty of others that could take care of him for a short period.
