Hey iornhorse10,

I have not had or have known anyone that has been in your situation. But logic has it fresh water flood, I would think that it is not a big problem like it would be if it was salt water. I would make sure that all the water is out of the engine and trans and refill. Make sure that everything is dry and I would try and get it running. I know that it is worse than being in the rain but bike do run in the rain and will run in heavy rain so as long as the starter is not rusted and all the water is out, evreything dry I don't think that it should be a problem. Let us know how you make out. Do you own this bike now or are you thinking about buying it?

If it was completely submerged - there will be water in all the fabrics and padding - that can cause foul odors from bacteria. Flood waters are never clean.

As for electrical connections - they are shielded from the rain not submersion - most won't rust but all will tarnish and bad connections will eventually happen.

Engine, fuel system, battery has various breather openings.

For the right price it would be worth cleaning up and riding but - keep in mind - when the same thing happens to a car it is considered a total loss.

@lenny, no I was looking at picking up another scooter, already have 2 great running rides, Found this 2011 Fatboy that had been in the flood in Colorado, cheap. I figure we can't have to many Harleys :) Seats need replaced but I would do that anyway.

At the right price - you could easily make any repairs and still be way ahead.
