Good good, glad to hear its nothing traumatic or bad. I agree about a change stimulating the mind. I read where "the experts" say you should change up your job about every 10 years for too many reasons.

My wife had youtube on the big tube at the house watching videos about Lake Lure, NC yesterday. One of them was a motorcyclist with a helmet cam. It looked like a nice ride. The towns remind me of the old Texas towns. The mountains and roads through them are pretty cool. Much different than the mad max $%^* in the big cities.

KS...ain't no living like country living and double that if you live in the mountains. Sure a man has to effort a little more on a number of points. Usually no town water having a artesian or surface well instead, need serious snow removal equipment(snow blower, old pickup w/ a plow or a tractor w/ a bucket loader),some type of reliable back up power(prereably a auto generator wired directly into the house or a switch panel install with a roll away generator at the very least even a small one to run a few essentials) and at least one vehicle with 4x4. If you're lucky and can afford it a snowmobil is awsome to have. And your arsenal of weapons is handy for too many reasons. And it's essential to have a dog or 2 or 3,lol.

And a husband and wife really need to depend on each other more so than usual in my experience.

I love it. Always have lived in the country. Disapointed that my son lives in the big city. He's like his mother and doesn't see the big picture. :icon_biggrin:

Would I need a snow removal equipment around the Black Mountain area? In the area I live we don't get much snow. If we get some light flurries one day a year it's exciting. If the roads get icey it's a disaster. We do "heat" alright, but we don't get much snow. I'm seeing some cool places with 10+ acres... well as cool as the pics on the computer can make them.

I had 5 acres with a house years ago. It was cool... I love the elbow room. It wasn't really in the "country", but it wasn't in the city either. I'm thinking about at least 10 acres with a creek... if possible. I'd be cool with an old house that needs work.

My son and his wife are talkign about moving out that was as well. His wife is all into it... which I never would have expected.

Where are the Black mountains? I know where the Blue ridge mountains, and the Smokie mountains but don't know where the Black mountains are. Deerslayer

I was refering to the town Black Mountain, NC. It is east of Asheville on I40. We are looking all around the area. Not sure if that is our destination, but the general area for sure.

I don't live there yet, but when I do that would be cool. There is a chance we might go to Florida for a few months first... not decided yet. A few cards have to fall right between now and then as well, but right now it's looking good.

Thats easy to find out by perusing WWW for the winter weather for that particular location.

Black Mountains.. thats some steep ass riding, even and especially on the I-40. That was one of the first rides I'd taken on my sidecar bike..freaken hairy. When we got to wheels thru time Dale of WTT gave me some life saving tips on how to drive a sidecar bike.

I don't know if it means anything, but my sister says no snow, just rain. She's been there a few years now.
