Last summer we all had a discussion on how to beat the heat...
Well this is how I'm doing it and so far it seems to be working for me.
First off, I bought a new mesh jacket. They come in all different colors, I chose the one that would reflect the heat the most - Silver. It reflects the suns heat away from me and it is cooler with it on than with it off. I keep it zipped up all the way - seems to work the best.

I now have a modular helmet - I thought - at first that I didn't like it but truthfully once I got used to it - I really prefer it now (my big bro told me I would - he was right!!). Also - on my last ride, it was 109 in the shade - when I opened the clear visor the wind was hot like opening an oven door... but with the visor down the air coming through the vents actually kept me cooler.
I drank a couple Gatorades and plenty of water and for the first time I was fairly comfortable in the extreme heat of the So. Cal Desert.
I thought I'd pass on my findings so the rest of you guys would know.
