Can't say I'm in the market for HD apparel but looking at the prices they definitely are discounted.

I've alway could barely afford 2nd rate riding gear even and up to using snowmobil suits. At 57 I always wanted a nice well made and attractive riding jacket. I bought this:

HD makes the nicest looking jackets. Little pricey but this other web site I shared lessens the damage a smidge any ways.

Nice jacket BI - there is one guy that rides with our main group every now and then with a jacket similar to that one. He's pretty easy to pick out on the road - so visibility is fairly good with that one.
Weljo just got a high vis jacket and one of our other guys has one - hopefully it keeps the idiots from running them/you over.

I know my new bike and fancy jacket screams new rider and am treated as such in some circumstances...I don't give a sh*t. I suppose I could have kept my rigid '63 pan, long hair/beard etc... but its all about me/spouse and I don't care about fitting in anywhere amongst the HD community or looking cool anymore. I can afford to look stylish and own new iron. Under most circumstances I'm a cranky long time riding grey beard and most of my kind have "gone underground" and disdain most but not all the new HD rider nation/generation......some get it. Too many others run with the status symbol of it. The bike does not make the man, au contraire mon fraire...the man makes the bike.

I also play the senior citizen, federal employee, Army vet card when on the road. It works pretty good, most of the time. Still, I sh*t you not, I get occasional LEO flack. The funniest being when coming off the ferry out of Yarmouth,Nova Scotia to Bar Harbor,ME(when it was running, I think it recently closed because of fuel cost issues). I have vet plates, a VAMC sticker,honorably D/C'ed vet. Yet a homeland security guy had pulled me over to the side and was fixing to pat me down and unload my stuff. What was funny and I was laughing out loud at the time about it was the homeland secirity officer was obvious of mexican decent, could barely speak english. I felt I was more American then he was. Like I said I was laughing out loud because of the irony of it. He asked what was so funny. I told he wouldn't understand. Right when he was just starting to search me a female Homeland Officer came over and told him to stand down and cease and decist and let me go. Another irony was they missed the Cuban cigars. There was about 8 of them.
