My local dealer has it's good and bad day's. They do strive to make customers happy.
I've read a few complaints online about them, but there quick to respond and hash things out.
A few months back I had some problems getting some tires and every sense that debacle I've gotten a discount on parts.
I just picked up some Kuryakyn ergo plus engine guards for 360, they list for 389 on the net.
There just ten miles from my house and if things get sour there's one forty miles north and two more with in a hundred mile radius.

I hate to say it but - more often than not - it's who you know. IF you knew, or better yet - if the guy that calls the shots knows you, that's the biggest part of customer service these days.
In this case the shop remembers you being a good customer that had a problem and now they give you a break on cost. IT WORKS!!

As for BI - if the new guy knew him as well as the old guy - he'd be loving it instead.

Was gun ho for the Roadtech Garmin Zumo 665 XM/GPS...not gonna do it it. I see myself as one of those customers that if I did get it, some MOCO dealership mechanic would screw up the installation and leave me holding the bag(I've read to many personal stories of this and which of course HD MOCO is in denial this mentality exists w/in it franchises), so no more add ons or performance changes for me. Just regular service intervals and at yet another different dealership.

When I had the XM radio put on my 2001 Ultra I went thru 4 radios before they got it right. One radio came right out of the box broke...and thats when I had "connections" at the local close by dealership.

And I'm good. The 2012 Ultra is everything and more I like (6 speed,103" motor,6 gallon tank and stock muffler = MPG and reliability) in a bike sans a few minor changes (lower windshield, windshield bags, tour pack lid storage liner, luggage rack, heavy duty hinges, passenger arm rests). I'll keep it simple and the damage control to a minimum. I just want to ride when I can as often as I can with least amount of bullsh*t.

You know, you could get the manual and do the install your self. How hard can it be? I mean if the trained monkeys - um - I mean the mechanics can do it, and you know they have no clue... why can't you just take your time and do it right... It's not like you have to rebuild an engine. You probably have every tool you need already, and you're not in a hurry to get it done by lunch/quitting time. I put a complete security system on my bike back in 1995, with a pager that has a 1/2 mile range - a proximity sensor that senses if anyone is getting too close to it - secret kill switch - and siren... took all of one day and it was done right the first time. PLUS - since I did it - I could trouble shoot it if any thing ever went wrong - which it never did... as of yet at least. You're not alone - we can offer support if not just the moral kind. Don't be a chicken - you know you can do it!!

Maybe. They do have accessable and printable instructions on it on the MOCO web site...

Having further researched the product it doesn't come as recommended as I'd like to see and with many problematic issues w/ poor manufacturer support never mind sh*tty MOCO dealership service managers/mechanics. A good old fashion map is good enough.

Don't hate the technology...GPS are the sh*t and have bailed me on many an unknown locations in my truck. I see them as a viable and usefull tool for the long distance rider. XM radio with an awsome variety of music and GPS to assist you in at least restaurants, hotel etc while one the road. Thats the part of GPS I think I would like the best. Maps help you with objectives and destinations, GPS help dial in the experience a little better.

Just did a 2D trip yesterday - Weljo2001 had the trip entered in his GPS but we only needed it at the end to find the entrance ramp to the freeway... we would have found it with out - but knowing he had the cords was a great backup plan. I had the route planned out and keep the directions on 3x5 index cards clipped to my windshield bag... easy to see - even with sunglasses on. I personally prefer printed maps - they're just a little hard to read at speed.

The XM particular is a blessing on multi day and week trips. The station follows you from coast to coast and back, no switching every 2-3 hours or less. Plus besides tune-age I like sports talk radio, howard stern and sometimes POTUS.
