Everyones intentions seem modest and well grounded but I wonder if that would truly be the realistic case. Theres a show on cable called "How the Lottery changed my life". Most every winner and depending on the amount won went nutz. The only ones I remember who were modest were the winners of that 1 million magazine sweepstakes deal. After taxes I think they only received like 600,000 if not less (its staggering how much is taken out either thru taxes or the one lump sum rip off or both). The had a modest home built to replace a trailer as well as a couple new but not over the top vehicles, more on the pracxtical side. But then $600,000 doesn't really go to far in the real world if you're not careful.

The first thing I would do is payoff my debts and those of my kids. Then I would take my wife and kids on a nice vacation or cruise. I'd make a donation to a good cause for children or something like that. I like to think I wouldn't go crazy but it sure would be fun to find out. I would also get an unlisted phone #!

Just an ordinary average guy.

Your right the best thing to do is to stay modest. Paying off dept. A good touring bike to go and check out some places I've never been. Visit and actually meet some friends face to face. Probably still have to work at something, just not so hard.

Who needs 10 vehicles? A 38,000 square foot home?

A thought just crossed my mind(speaking of money and possesions)...as a consequence of the disproprotioning of moneys thru out the country like athletes, actors, musicians and the like versus really important people like Nurses, Carpenters, Mechanics, Mill workers, Cooks, Dietitians etc...it only makes sense that we have such a socia-economic imbalance. Throw in the too many people who want everything for nothing (and as great as this country is compared to others) you wonder how long we the people can sustain this equation. And its not an issue thought about often because the gay marriage issue takes presidence. Apparently pole smoking and rug munching is more of a priority.

Me and my wife work our asses off to maintain a humble house hold and help our kids here and there when we can. Despite each having a decent vehicle, the luxury of a motorcycle and a house thats only worth 77,500, we have our hands full. Taxs continue to go up. Started out at 1700 are now 3600. Its a financial penalty to make inprovements to your house...I didn't know that.

Since I am single I would move out of the country. There are many places that your dollars go real far. That is if you like being in a foreign country. Drivers, maids, cooks and all house personnel can be had for $1,000 per month. You can live like a king! The Asian area's are the best!
