When I was first married and my Babcia(Stanislava Jurkiewicz) was alive I made sure to get my wife over there to learn to make pieroggis from scratch. At first it took 4 hours from start to finish but we've finally whittled it down to 2 hours. Nothing better then home made pieroggi's.

You didn't think I was actually gonna share an old family recie did ya,lol.

My pop used to buy pieroggis and make them for us - haven't had one in many years - but I remember I liked them - a lot!!

Your pop has refined culinary tastes, lol.

Its probably just as well to don't have regular access to Pieroggis..you'd start looking like one. They have been my downfall as I eat them every week. Always have a batch or 2 in the freezer waiting.

You mean - more then I already do!! :icon_laughing:
I think I'll see if I can find them - now that you reminded me... I can't remember if he used to eat them with sour cream or not... Does that sound right? He used to get the frozen ones in a box. Don't know if they are even available out here.

yes sour cream. I like them fried after they've boiled. The frozen ones in the box are available and they are really not that bad. They're definately close to home made tasting.

My inlaws are Portugese and they dislike them. I think they're jealous and simply want the Chorico sausage to rule. I say combine them for a great meal! :icon_laughing: :icon_laughing: :icon_laughing:
