Well, with being retired since Mar. 1 of 2019 I was real busy setting up in the Spring for a summer of RVing in Central N.Y. Loved the lower summer temps & less humidity in upstate compared to at home here in the Richmond, Va. area. So, we come back home in Sept. & get into work around the house that needs doing before winter. More and more cooler days and cool evenings with less daylight hours. I'm trying to enjoy more computer times. Facebook is a waste of time but enjoy it somewhat. John Deere forums kind of quiet during harvest season. Sooooooooooooooo, where i'm headed with this is I decided to come back in these forums and start enjoying them when i'm caught up on everything else. Buttttttttttttttttttt what i'm noticing is it appears this Harley forum is not real active. Very few new posts from even last month (Oct 2019). I never noticed before that this forum was so inactive. Has everyone moved to another site?

Yeah face book stole the show -
the folks that are here are tried and true
we don't post what we ate for breakfast
seems people come here to find out real info from real riders
how to fix a bike, get info that keeps you riding...

I'm always happy to read what what you wrote and if you look at the stats there are tons of ppl viewing just not posting.

This forum is what YOU make it.

That's what happened to my John Deere forum too. Facebook discussions just aren't the same IMHO

It's the forum here and others that are specific topics.
Faceplant isn't and could never be a forum, too many distractions per page.

I visit here daily, not always have the time to reply but always read.
If I see a post that I think I can add positively to I make it a point to do what I can.
My reasons are:
I needed help to fix my bike - NUMEROUS times.
I came here - someone always gave me real, good, info.
I've made friends here.
I love to connect with other motorcyclists that enjoy motorcycles.

So yeah, people aren't posting like they used to, me included.
But winter is coming and so are all those riders looking for a good story/read/post.

IF YOU WRITE A POST - THEY WILL COME

It'd be like that sometimes. I peak and chime in from time to time. I like it here, enjoy the commaraderie. With all do respect posting pictures is a pita. If we could make it easy peasy i'd
Ost up like a muther.

Is there anyway todo that?

I haven’t been on the site for a while due to various circumstances that I find myself in. I needed help a while ago from biking guys and the forum was there for me.there are some great guys on this forum, who supported me ,one in particular, and they got me through some dark times.whether it be help fixing your bike ,or just everyday advice, there will be someone willing to help. It’s a genuine forum, lots of interesting people on it with interesting stories to tell,so support it through the quiet times brothers and one day it may be there to support you.happy Christmas next month from across the pond.

It helps that this site will inform ya when a reply comes in. That is great. I'll try to get in here more often to help with info that i may have in accordance to those asking for help when i browse.

I've notice the same thing over the last couple of years. Even the large forums are declining severely. Myself, I find I only visit these sights occasionally now days. My life as I'm getting closer to retirement and as I have suddenly found myself patriarch of the whole damn family my life has become extremely busy. My cousins, nieces and nephews are even calling me. And as I look at everyone around me, I find everyone else is in the same boat (very busy with their own problems). That and what has already been mentioned here Face Book is taking over. I think all these factors mixed together slowly eating away at forums. With all that said I myself am still lurking around, sometimes not commenting as much but I am lurking just the same. :icon_twisted:

This forum has been one of the better ones. Sometime maybe not the quantity but definitely the quality. :icon_You_Rock:

Yes Sir there are some great people here. Even if you come here once a year it is always nice to see a post from a friendly biker. I'm tryin to get a bunch of the old guys to hit the chat room up. Join us in the char room, lets make a time to do it. Life is good!
