Calling All Old Timers - Who Remembers the TV Show "Then Came Bronson" with Michael Parks? I remember watching it as a kid. What was the approximate year of the show? 1960's somewhere. What year was the sportster he rode? And any other facts that can be remembered please add.

...oh, so that's what that story is about...
Yikes, what kind of an idiot buys a Sportster with a 2.1 gallon tank and racks up high mileage on a highway, probably wearing out a tire? Man, a guy like that is off his meds...

Yes that would tend to be a problem. If there is a tv show that you remember from the old days check out youtube I'll bet that it's up there. Some surprising stuff on youtube!

Overall, I agree. After all, Peter Fonda went cross-country on a tank smaller than that.
However, for guys who know me here, I am a guy who owns a Sportster with a 2.1 gallon tank, I ride all over the highways and Interstates, almost exclusively. I wore out a tire doing this, and yes, I'm on meds.
Inside joke...

I will say one thing about that show, it sure made traveling with minimal equipment quite romantic--and I will never do that again...
The year before I joined the club I hung around with another guy named Doug Hoffman who owned a 500cc Suzuki twin. He wanted to take that style of "Hollywood vacation." So stoked up with more bravado than brains, we went out to become Bronson two weeks before college started.
Ah, that long lonesome highway...
With nothing but cloth jackets and bedrolls, we set off to 'find America.' Yikes, I found that America was frigid on that open road, expensive, and downright idiotic for camping when using just a blanket to cover the ground.
Still, we looked cool, we actually dared to do it, and we made it home alive, stone broke, and much wiser.
But to this day, I'll never look at 'Then Came Bronson' or 'Easy Rider' quite the same way.
