Yes, I keep it in a garage for the winter. Not ready to put away yet, just wondering what I need to get prepared. The battery trickle was what I was looking for. Mine has connectors for it. So I will do that, additive for the fuel and a nice jacket. Thanks

Matt, I can easily understand how attached we get to these bikes. In fact, right now I'm concerned about simply putting more miles on Betty just to "stir up the engine oil." I don't even know if that's really necessary. In Wisconsin most bikes sit all winter, and she's on the tender right now.

But I think the issue for us is always, "Am I hurting my bike?" And it's a valid concern. But in the case of my first 'big bike' I worried myself silly. If I was on the slab and felt minor grit on my face I wondered if this grit would scratch my paint...

While I hate saying this, even Betty is a piece of metal with holes drilled into her. There are Harley parts that go back to the 1930s. In the worst case, she can be repaired.

My goal now is to worry less and ride more. My advice is to seek out good, solid, reliable info on your bike, find the most expensive knife sharpener you can--worship him--and then go ride your scooter. You'll notice I'm gone for the shank of the day, and today I'll be pretty much gone until nightfall, save a brief period midday. You gotta ride when the sun's out, and happily I haven't the faintest idea where I'm headed today.
