Sorry I haven't been on in a while but tis riding season and I been riding. How aboutr youse guys?

I've logged nearly 5000+miles so far riding to Pigeon Forge on one trtip and to the Hub(a 1970ish biker resort in the middle of the Ozarks) in Marble Falls,Arkansas on another. I'm grounded temprarily as my wife had a medical emergency 60 miles from home after the Arkansas trip so we 're laying low for now and until my wife gets to feeling better.

Hope these post, there from the Arkansas ride. About 22+ of us rode 400 miles from Nashville to Marble Falls,AR. We did fine too:

Arkansas trip was me and my wife on the 2001 Ultra. The ride to Pigeon Forge was on the 1998 S/C bike with whole family in tow.

Its early yet and I hope I'm not done riding?

BI63 and I tried to chat today. First it was while I was still at the gym, a place that drops calls due to the building's construction. I think he called tonight, but I see no message and the phone was silent.

BI63, ya' big goof, keep trying me, man! I miss you, and your tales about the rides I might not be able to take this year. The wife is just about done with rehab for the knee surgery, but she's still icing it, and feels unsteady and a bit afraid of going for a longer ride on Betty.

I am wearing out Spinner, however!

How you doing? Getting much if any riding in? Me? Its been a slow season so far, been to Pigeon forge,TN first week of May. Last week of May to Marble Falls, Ar. Then 3, day rides,1 to Rhode Island(about 400+),1 to Greenfield, Mass and the Mohawk trail(280 miles) and the other day to White Mountain National Forest ins northern most New Hampshire and to visit White Horse Press(280 miles):

Hey, blood, I've been riding between the raindrops. I had a storm chase me home a few days ago. How I missed that huge black cloud as I left the house still baffles me. Probably wishful thinking. ("Perhaps that cloud is only a 'big shadow' about to dissipate as I ride...")

The weather has been the biggest issue here regarding mileage. Some afternoons it's been so hot and muggy that I don't even ride. I did manage to wear out Spinner's rear tire, and I finally trashed those worthless shocks and got progressives.

Only one of my friends (I call her "Sis" because she's like my sibling) even went to Sturgis. She got a new Road Glide and went out there on a trailor. Black Betty managed to frag another oil pressure gauge. All in all I seem to be spending more of my time at the gym than on the highway.

I was all up in there and all through the Hog Back some years ago, beautiful roads and country side, I'd suggest that to anyone that really loves to wind through some hilly fun stuff.

Funny thing....seems most who own and ride Harleys are older riders...40-50-60+years old, most don't care to ride far. Don't blame 'em its hazardous out there,lol. I figure tradition,loyalty and a degree of national pride is why we/they ride HD's.

The younger generation by and large....jap crap and have no clue about tradition, loyalty or nat'l pride. To bad as I thgink Harley makes some pretty cool sporty rides like the Sportster 48,Nightster, Rocker C,and any of the Dyna's or Softails.

Heading to an interesting rally in Stowe,VT in a couple weeks...an FJR rally.One of my friends who rides both an Ultra and an FJR is going and invited me so I'm going for the day. I'm looking forward to it. If they like there bike as much as I lke mine we should all be able to bust each others balls w/out any poroblems,lol.

The Hog Back is a little South of me by 40-60 miles in Cheshire County,NH more towards the Massachusetts border. The White Mouontains are about 40-60 miles north of me.

As you enter into the White Mountain region just on the I-93 North.... the mind has a hard time registering this little black ribbon of interstate intruding into the majestic White Mountain unfolding in gradeur in front of you. Quite frankly its a little intimidating. Before your get to over whelmed by it all its time to take any number of exits...rt 112(Kangamangus),or rt 302 or rt 2(the Presidentials)...any of those exits dips and winds, as you say, for about 38-50+ miles. Hooking onto the rt 16 and onto further scenic Maine if you chose. Base camping locally one can easily put in a very enjoyable,memorable and breath taking scenery... 240-270 miles day. Casual cool and fun. Too much to see and do up there. Thats just the White Mountains. There is still the Green Mountains of Vermont just to the west by a stones throw and the Adirondacs of eastern upstate NY just a pinch over or a ferry ride over Lake Champlain. I've done both the ride over to Adirondacs and the ferry ride. ferry rides good to do once...who knows you mike get a look at "Champ".

Yeah it was a long time ago but I was living in upstate NY for a year taking care of business. We rode the wheels off those bikes that year. I'd go every weekend, the whole New England region was our playground.
My buddy lived in NH, so I'd ride to his house on Friday nite and we'd go all over.
I also did the Adirondacks and Lake George, all through Heldibergs and out to Utica. I gotta say those roads were some of the nicest I've ever been on.
The absolute best ride I ever did... Sequoia National Forest. Spent 2 weeks base camping and riding every horse, pig, and cow trail out there. That's one ride I'd love to do again with some real friends. The Hume lake loop was spectacular. Views of Kings Canyon and the kings river...
BI63, I thought you were from the same region as Tourist, didn't know you were a home boy to me.
Now though I'm west coast so we're not home boys anymore...
