In the spring last year I put a 113" Ultima in my '96 fxd in my garage. Having 115 horsepower and 120 lb feet of torque is a bit much for just a highway bike, but fun. Gas mileage went from cruising getting over 50 on my stock displacement evo to a very consistent 35. The Mik 45 is not stingy at all with the gas but I am not really complaining. I had a 113” SnS in a hardtail Ultra GroundPounder 10 years ago. Got 46 mpg on that bike with a SnS G. Rode it from Mpls to Chelan, Washington. No problems at all except for rain on the way out. Stopped raining 1/2 hour after I got my tent up at 25 mile state park in mid WA state. Holden Village was kewl for the week I was there with the wife - she and a group went out by train. The next week was the rally. On the way back I stayed at Cody, WY KOA. Met 2 friends that rode out from Sturgis to meet me Sat night. In heading south out of red lodge I should have gone east not west. Rain that day also and at the top of beartooth pass I had lots of hail. Luckily I did have my helmet along since WA requires it in that socialist nanny state. Then I saw that the next 10 miles at the top were under construction. The next sign said 'FRESH OIL'. What a nerve wracking ride. I was expecting to get to the KOA around 6pm - pulled in at 9:30pm. Luckily I rented a ‘Kabin’ there. No bad weather at all after that and the 113”er ran good and hard, even with the slow=hot riding around Sturgis all was well.
