I posted a bunch of my rides in my gallery, heres the back story on
Photo 1 titled the 3 amigos was taken in the Wasatch mountains about 50 miles out of Salt Lake City Utah with Alta (pretty sure) in the background.
The ride:
I Did a solo ride up to Salt lake from OC to meet up with my 2 buddies, HosA and HosB.
I Left my house around 5:30 am OC time and made vegas by 10 after 2 fuel stops.
Had to stop in vagas for a little stretch at the local strip club, hey, I only stayed for 1 and a couple aspirin.
Back on the road, the farther north I went the worse the head winds got, I had the throttle cable stretched and was barely making the speed limit (75 mph) when I got passed by a micro bus, I jumped in its draft and went to throttle back position and 55 mpg. Followed the hippies for about 80 miles, needed fuel and a stretch. Gotta say when I stopped for fuel the wind in that pass was blowing at 25 plus with gusts that made me stand into them. I took a break, and got something to eat check my ride over, oil... tires... cleaned the bugs off me and the windshield, one big sucker hit the mirror and splatered on to my face, hey thats motorcyclin!! Back on the road I found a high speed rig and drafted him into salt lake. got 220 miles on that tank of gas.
Disclaimer:
I never ride behind what I cant see around so when I drafted the truck I stayed as far back as possible and still in the pocket but I didn't get to admire the scenery much. Mistakes come fast in that situation and I don't suggest anyone do that at home... hahaha
HosA flew in from back east and rode the rented honda on the right in the photo.
HosB lives in Salt Lake City and owns the Honda on the left in the photo. He Tour guided us though his neck of the woods that day. We stopped and a nice lady took our picture.
