A friend of mine and who deerslayer knows too upgraded his ride this week from a 2000 Dyna to a 2006 Ultra with all the bells and whistles, even a GPS. Happy man. We rode up about 120 miles north to the Green Mt dealer in Essex Jct,VT. The bike he was wanting to purchase had been sold the day before so he found one with a few more miles on it but had everything else on it. It seemed to be a pleasant experience for once. Everyone was pleasant, not pushy and the deal was negotiated with both parties making reasonable concessions. Matt had asked me to come along and I tried not to interfere unless I was asked but was happy to help any way I could. I'm a pretty good hageler. Basically Matt hit them high and I hit them low.
I'm glad for him. And while his Ape Hanger dyna could go anywhere anyone else wanted to go, the ride will be much more enjoyable on an Ultra. Tunes blaring from the speakers, tons of storage, passenger comfort for his GF who loves to ride too, intercom ready for bike to bike, passenger to passenger communication and a Garmin Road tech GPS already installed. I wonder if the previous owner upgraded to the 2014 Ultra Limited?
On the ride home I could have done with out the 9 miles of scarified interstate and the on again off again wind shears. And gatorade is good on hot days, lol.

Nice looking scoot. I have been thinking along those lines myself. Congrats to your buddy!

That 2006 FL doesn't need a thing. He scored huge at a fraction of a cost of a new one. One owner bike, well taken care of. Every little chrome detailed thing right down to the chromed bolt covers. As a '06 its a pre frame mod bike and its sits and probsbly rides better then my '12.

Cool bike - hope he has many fun, trouble free miles. He's still pinching himself not believing his luck. He's actually paying less a month than he was on the other bike. For what he was looking to do he got lucky. An then he gets sent to Phoenix,AZ on TDY for 2 weeks, lol. He couldn't take the bike if he wanted to.

Thats usually how things work - you get some cool new toy and get sent out of town and can't play with it. He'll look back on these days and laugh.
