Thats a great Idea!!
I've posted some pics in my gallery of some of my trips that I took over the last few years.
Installment #1:
I have a few favorite rides, on one trip I left out of orange county fully loaded: tbag with the sleeping bag strapped to the top, camping equipment, saddle bags fully stuffed, at about 4am. I headed north and got through to santa barbara by 7am. I was surprised at how much traffic there still was even that early in the morning... Stopped at real dinner, the kind with a counter and stools that looked like an old railroad car. Tanked up on some real food and that endless cup of coffee. I rolled north on california hwy 101, thats the one we all see in the movies... and yes it was just as pretty, even better in person. I spent the first night in my tent at morrow bay. I was so excited to get away I wasn't thinking straight, and plunged my bare arm into some brush to get some kindling, wasn't set up for more than a minute and already covered in poision ivy
I did bring some calimine lotion but what a way to start out, decided to go for a ride, it was the best medicine!! There were some dirt roads that combed the shore line and I just explored them till it got dark, got my mind off of the itch and it kept my hands busy on the handle bars. I don't know why or how but Denty Moore Beef Stew tastes like dog food when I cook it at home but throw a can of that into the fire and eat it out of that same can and you'd think you were eating the best food on earth.... must be the smokey flavor... Well, I had something to eat, and after that the family one site over invited me over to join them, Dad, a guy about my age must have asked me 1000 question about my bike and how I got all my stuff in it/ on it... I think he was hoping I'd throw him the keys... We all had a good time and I hit the sack early, I had the next day on my mind and couldn't wait to get riding again.
More later....
