Looking for a set of slip on muffler for a 01 FLHTCUI something a little louder than stock can't paid these prices these folks are asking for new ones not that I am cheap just poor! thanks for any help or advice you guys can give me.

Welcome to the forum this is a great place to hang out and meet new friends. About your slip ons. Take the old ones off and knock out the plugs in them. I have taken a long piece of rebar and pocked out the plugs I do not know if the 01 has a catalytic converter or not. I don't think that matters tho. If you only want it a little louder then you might not want to knock out the plug half way. Try that if you get the sound that you want leave it if not knock it out a little more. I don't think that you can fix it if you go too far, I would do a little at a time. I knocked out the plugs on one of my bikes and it worked well.

You can always look for used ones check craigslist or you local swap meet.

On my original mufflers, I knocked out the baffle plugs. It sounded better and ran the same. I used a 1" steel round jackhammer bit with a point on it.
I took the mufflers off, cleaned them really good then wrapped them up in cloth to keep them from getting scratches. I put the muffler on a piece of old carpet to soften the end and went at it with the bit and a hammer. Then decided it was better to just drop the muffler down on the bit on the floor. Got it stuck and had to have my buddy help me get it out
