Hi everybody,

I have a 2014 Heritage Softail with the stock 150mm rear tire on it.

I'd like to "upgrade" to a Fat Boy rear wheel/tire size of 200.

My question is simple: will the stock Heritage swing arm accommodate this modification. Are the Fat Boy and Heritage swing arms the same swing arm?

(P.S. I understand there may be a lot of other parts changes - fender, spacers, etc. My question is simply whether or not the swing arm needs to be changed also.)

Thanks!

Good question!!
My only input is going to be devils advocate.... why stop at 200? If you're going to go through with all that work you might want to consider going big.

best of luck with your project!!

I want to go with the widest tire on the back that I can without the expense and technical hassle of changing out the stock swing arm for a wider swing arm.

So far, the best I've learned I can do is to go to a 180mm.

Still working on the original question if anyone knows more!

Welcome Ledbelli,

I don't know,
but that shouldn't be too hard
to get an answer on,
by calling around to a few shops.

Good luck!

And let us know what happens...

I found the answer, but not from dealership "specialists" or gearheads!

It turns out, the answer was easy to find once I thought of it: I checked the H-D website for purchasing a chrome swingarm.

The exact same swingarm fits either the 2014 Heritage Classic or any version of the 2014 Fatboy. Answer found and problem solved!

So, going to a beefier rear tire is as simple as fitting a new rim, spacers, and fender!
