They do let me back in the service bays, but I do not have a "back stage pass" for the actual work. BTW, anything that pertains to Spinner in her role as a 'work vehicle' has to be documented parts/labor for taxes.
Since Spinner is also a "pleasure vehicle," the labor issue is pro-rated.
Damage is another matter. Added to that I'm not going to limit my mileage, but as you said, I'm going to ride the wheels off her. I'm just trying to not be too literal. LOL. If there are better wheels, I'd like to consider them. Don't get me started on drive belts, shocks, bearings...
Oh, yes. And since I now know that a dog-leg 48 foot peg is 37 bucks, I also have to plan for big surprises if any upgrade is sky high! If a permanent fix for the rear end (meaning tires, shocks and some wheel upgrade) means longer overall service instead of niggling routine repairs all of the time, I'm all ears.
But trust me, when that spoked wheel comes off, I'm going over it with the wrench--inch by precious inch! It has taken some pretty hard whacks.
On all of my other bikes, a mag wheel and a tubeless tire was pretty much a 'low maintenance' choice.
