Looking to improve our 2009 Ultra CVO. We ride every chance we get two up / 250-500 miles a day. Not looking for stoplight-to-stoplight but enjoy the feel of acceleration. :icon_whee: We plan to change the stock air cleaner and exhaust this winter.

Any thoughts (Pros / Cons) on going with Rineharts or Vance and Hines? :icon_question:

I saw some new exhaust that went under the back of the frame. these looked very cool. It would keep the bad heat off the passenger's leg. I have an '03 and they do not work for my era.

Both Rinehart and Vance & Hines do the below the swingarm thing with the front pipe. Earlier attempts at true duals sent the rear pipe out the left side and the front down the right side. Our 2005 Ultra could fry the inside of my thigh even on a cool day. :icon_flame:
On the CVO, we get plenty of heat with the stock system. There are days I cringe just at the thought of getting caught in traffic. I am hoping the new under the frame helps take some of the heat away. By design, HD engineered the rear cylinder to stop firing in hot situations. I have not noticed any difference. :icon_toocool:

i can tell you that they both make good pipes. i think the V&H pipes can use other mufflers down the road...

Well that is one of my winter projects and have come down to putting in Vance and Hines power dual headers and the 4" Reinhart pipes. I would use the Reinhart headers but dont like they way they come out of the rear cylinder.

Ended up contacting three local HD dealers fishing for their spin on it. Two of the three advocated keeping the stock head pipes and just replacing the slip-on mufflers. They claimed that for the most part on the 110, Harley has got the engineering right. They agreed to sell me whatever I wanted but felt I would be throwing my money away. The one shop claimed to have just done a 110. They ended up changing the slip-ons and the cams with ones from a guy in New Jersey. After doing the dyno work, they claim I will be more than satisfied. As it now sits, they say the bike is way on the lean side to pass emissions. :icon_smoking:

Just a note if it helps. I have heard several reports that the Rhineharts are good pipes, but that there have been complaints that the tone bothers the passenger. It had just the right tone that the passenger had issues both hearing the radio, or intercom.
Personaly I did not enjoy the higher crack of the V+H Pro pipes. :icon_toocool:
