Oh man,

after oil change 1 month ago
got a small leak going.

Just changed it again with trans,
and still leaking.

At least it's golden honey now.
But a leak is a leak.
And at $6 a quart,
I hope I get it figured out quick.

I think it's probably the oil drain hose.
It may have a crack in it.

I wish it had a threaded bolt in it
like the trans.

Mine is a black rubber tube
with clamps on both ends.
Not the best system in my opinion.

Yeah, it happens. Oil leaks and machinery go hand in hand.
Yours sounds fairly straight forward.
It would be best to do it when the oil is being changed - since you will lose and/or make a mess changing out the hose with oil in it. I would NOT drain - reuse oil - ever - unless it's the ONLY option.

To deal with the leak until you are ready to change the oil is your problem for now.

I found out that using a base like strong cardboard or a metal flat baking pan works with puppy pads or newspaper and paper towels over the base to absorb the leaking fluids -if they are in more than one place. If it is more than just a few drops use a tuna can or any low open container. Always move the pads out of the way before rolling the bike out - you don't want oil on the tires - it will track all over the garage/driveway...

When you have the oil out of the engine - switch out the line for all new rubber and hardware.
I've had to replace every rubber hose on my bike so far - gas lines, vacuum, you name it, I think it's the ozone or the dry CA air...

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....

Good advice.
Thanks RK,

I've only ordered he "end" drain line,
and there's an uneasiness whether this
will fix it.

So yeah, replacing all those oil,
related pieces sounds like a plan.

I've got a windshield ordered also.
I'll keep you informed.
For now just waiting...

It's always better to work on the bike in the garage instead of the side of the road.
Also when you have your mechanic hat on - check for other stuff that might be showing signs of wear or age - I've gotten lucky a few times, and caught stuff like loose nuts and bolts before I lost them....

I think the name has to do with celebrating the expression of individuality
if I remember correctly from the flyer for the BBQ's.
As in top rocker patch on jacket.

https://www.thunderpress.net/american-mo ... /02/24.htm

I caught the last BBQ for March, when picking up my bike
after being serviced.

And I won the egg toss twice!
AND GOT A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE!
