 Post subject: transmission ?

hi trying to findout what correct amount off oil for my 5sp trans it has builtin oil tank any ideas would be nice thanks

if you have the owners manual it will tell you
my bike has a dip stick in the trans oil for checking the level

hi thanks mine has dipstick but was concered that most harleys take 3 quarts but mine only takes 2and a tiny bit

what model and year makes a difference
I think 2 and change sounds about right though

sorry dont no as in one off chop transmission left side drive with hydrlic clutch and kick start and has oil filler on rightside just below rear cylinder has mount at rear and bolts to engine if that helps thanks

sounds like you have am FL or FX style transmission, they take 22 ounces, but you use the dipstick for proper level. When checking you clean the stick of then put it in with the bike straight, not on side stand and don't thread the dipstick in, just rest it on the top thread. Deerslayer
