I was in contact with GSHD, Laconia HD,Monadnock HD and GMHD for a couple days and no one had one or access to an Ultra Low before December. GMHD tried and almost succeeded in getting me to purchase a Ultra Limited Low. Ultimately I told them I really wanted nothing to do with water cooled. Just seems to be one more thing to break.

GMHD in Essex Jct called me a couple days later to say they had a Low coming in Wednesday night. I went up Thursday morning for 10am when they opened to look and sit on the bike. No pay stubs not even thinking about trading, just to see if I liked the bike and how it felt.

They offered and I received 3.75% interest and mad bank for my trade in. Monthly payments are about the same. Who could say no? I left my 2012 bike there and rode the new one home. No fuss or difficulties at all.

I went to GSHD the next morning to start getting stuff for it and when Kevin the salesman saw it he flipped out and started ranting, lol. I did call the other dealerships to tell them I'm good so they'd quit nagging me daily or I waste their time too..

The bike is the shit. I feel totally comfortable for once. Ever since 2007 I been struggling to have the Ultra I felt comfortable on. I figured if I wanted touring I would always be stuck managing the stout Ultra Classic. The Low is the shit. I got it now

Thanks kickstand.

At 5'7 its what I been looking for since I started riding Ultra's back in 2007. How tall are you? At some point the Ultra Low will be too cramped for a tall person. I wish I was taller but it is what it is. The standard size Ultra was really to tall for me.

It feels like a Ultra Sportster, lol.

Congrats, bike looks great! :icon_thumbsup: Ride it in good health and enjoy. At 57 you deserve it. Funny how that works out, ride your bike in and drive a new one home :icon_laughing: Glad to hear that you got a good deal.

Riding a new one home was unexpected. I figured best case scenario was gonna have to come back forth twice maybe even 3 times. The dealership was 100 miles one way. Wish they were closer because the day I spent there I like what I saw.

I'm around 5'10". I personally liked the seat height of the Heritage, which is about the same as the new UC-Low. I agree with you on the Limited... I don't care for the half-ass water-cooling.

You rich northerners are always buying new bikes :icon_You_Rock:

Oh stop....not the case at all. My bike was only 2 years old and only had 15-16000 miles on it..still new and owed less then 1000$ on it. Trade in was very generous as was the interest rate.

I think Kickstand, that at 5'10 you'd find the Ultra Low to cramped. Wish I was 5'10. Thats about the perfect height for the regular Ultra. The Ultra low is advertised for 5'7 and shorter. The seat placement on the Ultra Low shoves the rider almost too close to the front. For me it could be back another 1-2 inchs and the handle bars are very different. At first glance I didn't like them but as I rode the 100 miles home I came to appreciate the forward seat/handle bar combo. Again as a 5'7 Ultra rider its like riding a Ultra Sportster.

The 2012 was set up just the way I like it but it was problematic from the beginning. Pearl white is my favorite color. Came "new" with 300 miles and a Virginia inspection sticker(I'm from New Hampshire). Broken ig switch, broken wind deflector, tour pac lite out and has been out another 2 times, 30mpg/3rd gear front end wobble still. And at 5'7 I was flat footed but straight legged and thats with 1" think soled boots. It was really a challenge to stop with my wife on the back and loaded down.

I'm definately feeling this Ultra Low. At 5'7 and preferring the Ultra this version has been a God send by the MOCO. The freaken radio has a how to book as thick as the owners manual. I got the 6.5 upgrade, comes with GPS. And the silver Pearl is growing on me too.

Taking our first 2 up ride Sunday going to Norwich,CT.

It's like riding a ultra sportster. A short touring dream come true. Finally a standard ultra for short riders like me. The only other bike I felt comfortable on was my '63 rigid pan.
