Has anyone test driven a new 2014 touring bike with the new duel cool system? They had test rides at my local dealer last weekend but I was unable to make it.

Please let us know what you think.

No, I was hoping to head down to the local HD dealer with my brother to check them out but I've been sick. Probably going to get down there next weekend. I'll let you know what I saw.

Only rode the non water/radiator Ultra.

I think the water cool is for the Limited and not the Ultra?

I might be trying out one of these new bikes sooner than I thought. :icon_laughing:

When you do...check for the wiring harness exposed on the fender, right behind the passengers seat, on the Ultra's anyway and also see if the front end wobbles on the decel in 2 gear at 3000 RPMs and 3 gear on the decel at 40mph dropping down to 30mph.

Whats gpoing on with your rig?

I was just joking around, I'm doing my bike like I'm going to keep it another 20 years. I wouldn't know how to fix a new bike... :icon_bang:

Good thing...not crazy for the direction the HD MOCO is going personally and typical advice is not to bite on the first year model change. It doesn't seem well thought out. Why put a vent on the fairing knowing that people use windshield bags? Why place a large amount of the wiring harness in clear accessible view?

I understand the need to experiment with bigger and better technology. I agree with the 6 gallon tank and 6 speeds tranny, excellent additions. Don't really know whats better about EFI over carb, I've never been jammed up by a carb in over 20 years. I think kicking out the front end and increasing tire size from 16 to 17 was not a good idea either on the dressers.

Some of that stuff is an improvement but some might be a fad or impractical - the only real way to test out these ideas are to incorporate them into a new bike and see how they work out. Evolution - everything changes and not always for the best.
I think the bikes are getting too easy to ride - and so it makes it easier for the rider to get distracted - checking a flat screen for a couple seconds increases your chances of not making it home. I truely love the simplicity of my bike. No distractions - a speedo W/ idiot lights for oil and brights and neutral - a fuel gauge, one toggle switch to turn the passing lights on.
I will say that the bigger engines with the added overdrive and added fuel capacity are great improvements over what was. I'm still going to see them - it's a real kick to sit on brand new bikes!!
