We had a member of our ft Hood HOG chapter buy a Sportster and then six months later he traded it in for a Street Bob. Six months after that he traded it in for a Street Glide. Two weeks later it got stolen. That happened about a month or so ago and now he has a 2014 Street Glide. I bet 10-1 that the stolen bike either got parted or it ended up in Mexico. He is having a loud alarm system installed on the new one. Just might do the same for my new bike.

There is a company in Florida that parts out new bikes for profit (legally), prolly more profit if you don't actually buy the bike.

I would go with something like this: https://www.lojack.com/Motorcycles/Lojac ... Motorcycle

They don't know you know and you can get leo involved quicker.

A good insurance company is the best theft defense.

I remember once when I put in a new battery the alarm on my bike reset and went off while I was in there attaching the battery - I nearly jumped out of my skin - I hooked it to the horn and I added a siren... very loud - I think an alarm keeps away the ones that aren't professionals - and insurance is for when the alarm can't protect it. You have to be careful about your coverage - and keep in mind that the insurance payment is money spent and payment/return on your money - only IF something happens.
