Riding a 2005 FXST with 200 /50/18 Metz. 880 on the back. Very un-satisfyed with tread life, i went through that tire in 3k if that!!! Anyone have a suggestion, or had better luck with another brand. Not worried about price, just want top of the line tire that lasts. Oh and i definetly ride it like i stole it!!!!

This is the main reason why your back tire does not last. Fast starts from lights downshifting anything that puts a strain on the tire effect its longevity. Motorcycle tires are softer then your car tires because riders want them to stick (sticky) to the road. You can buy harder compounds that will last longer but will be more slippery. Do you want that? There are duel compound tires but I don't know if they are a available in your tire configuration. They are all over for sport bikes. You could contact Dunlop and see if they make a tire for your bike. I personally use them on my sport bikes.

You recommend Dunlop Lenny. I have to get a new front tire for my Sporty, I was just going to go with Harley tires.

Hey Eddie sorry that I missed you the other day in the chat room, always fun to chat there. I run the Dunlop Qualifier 2 they are duel compound and they run great on my sport bike. The hard compound in the center for longevity and the softer compound on the sides for hard cornering. They get :icon_thumbsup: :icon_thumbsup:

Eddie, Roadking had a thread on tires. These might be a little better for your sporty.

I heard thru the dealership grape vine that the Pirelli Night Dragon is a good tire too.

Found out from my dealership that Dunlop Qualifier 2 tires are Harley tires without the Harley logo plastered on. Dunlop makes the tires for HD.

I've had dunlops on my bike as the chosen tire for years.
Tried continentals but they were way too hard in a very slippery way. They did last 20 percent longer and were lighter. I would not recommend them... I did some of my best trick riding on them... accidentally.
My bike came with dunlops.
