Hi Gang!
It's been a while, but I just recently got home from an out of state job.
I have been out of my head with anxiety over buying a RoadKing online via Ebay.
Well, I threw open the garage door, with my heart in my throat, only to find that the bike was even nicer than I had expected! She surely is a beauty, and at the very LEAST, everything that the seller had said she'd be!
Everything on the bike is in tip-top shape, except for the stock seat being well worn. This I knew, so I had already bought a replacement. The 2-into-1 looks pretty shitty (presumably from the salt are in Fla. on a cooling pipe) or just cheap chrome. The finish is dull, grey and pitted. I'll eventually replace that too, but for now I'm the only one who seems to notice.
This bike starts with a ROAR, and runs like a BEAR! No unusual noises at all, and the fluids look like amber nectar.
The only dissapointment is the SHSHSHSHSHSHSAKING! Nothing at all like my 2000 Ultra, this baby shakes like my old mans HD's of the 60's! I checked out all the rubber mounts, and they look good. She finally smooths out at 60 MPH, but around town or elsewhere below 60, it feels like my hands and feet are asleep and I'm sitting astride a ground pounder! Looking in the mirrors makes me nausious.
Any suggestions on calming her down?
I've only put about 75 miles on the bike because the day after my short initial ride, the weather changed and it's been raining. I sure hope it gets nice again......SOON!
Well, I guess all of my worries were for naught, and I have made an exceptional purchase!

Ride safe my friends!
See ya on the road!
Swa

Glade to hear that everything turned out great for you! :icon_clap: As for the vibrations my brother has a RK that also vibrates it's the worst stopped at a light. Seems that it stops when you are above an idle. It is so bad that my teeth chatter. I think that it is normal for it to vibrate like that. I have had the "B" balanced engine that you get on the softail models they are vibration free. I like them much better. Ride it and enjoy it and look forward on seeing you on the road with the :icon_cheesygrin: on your face. Have fun and ride safe hope that you put up some pics on your gallery of your new bike.

Hey Swa,
glad to hear you finally got it, my RK vibrates but I must be used to it. I have the 2into1 thunder header from Harley and it turned colors also. When you get a chance post some pics for us. Pop that windshield off and get some wind in your face.
Ride safe and have fun.

You can have it cheap.
You can have it fast.
You can have high quality.
PICK ANY 2....
