Is there a checklist I can get on what needs to be done at a 5000 mile 10,000 mile etc. service? I did all the regular maintenance on my sport bike so a harley shouldn't be THAT different right? The prices the dealer charges are crazy and I'd like to learn to do it myself. Any input will be greatly appreciated. :icon_thumbsup:

Hi BigMike,
Whenever I buy a new bike or car I always get the "Service Manual", they usually cost around $50 + or -. This will give you all the service interval information and what to service. It also gives step by step instructions on how to perform the work. When you do-it-yourself this can be a big help as this is what the dealer uses. I also buy the parts book, it gives all the parts, part numbers and an exploded view so that you can see how they go together. Both purchased from the dealer will cost under $100. I find this to be the best help. I have also found that on ebay you can buy a service manual on a cd-rom for around $30. I have never bought any like this but you can check it out. I always get them from the dealer.

Hope this helps
