Hello again, I already asked the tourist this, but wondering what others think. I am wanting to increase performance/horespower on my 2011 SuperLow and wondering what you guys think I should do. I would like to do the work by myself so I can learn more about everything, I am mechanically inclined with cars but not really bikes. All I have done is put slip-ons on, but would like you opinion on other things I can do so it is more of a performance increase instead of a cosmetic. Thank you for your help in advance.

That Stock bike has more than enough power to kill your ass right now.
I have a bike that weighs at least 3 hundred pounds more than your bike - box stock and almost the same power.
I'LL lay money down right now, you'd be hard pressed to keep up with me on any take off or road windy or straight... You know why?
Cause I've mastered what I ride and can get the most out of it... not because I have more cubes or power.
Practice is priceless!! The easiest way to make a bike fast, faster, fastest is to put a fast rider on it.

i would suggest you ride it for a season before you do anything to the motor. Over the winter you can tear it down. Go to a lot of rides and ask questions. Lots of very fast sporties out there...

I'm split here, tell you why.

I broke in both Betty and Spinner before anything major was done. Betty got the 95 inch kit when new becuase there was a deal that winter, and you have to break in any new motor, so I figured what the hey. No speed parts in either bike till about +2K miles.

However, information is another thing. Privately and in a PM I gave the newb my recommendation, which is between us. And everybody, everybody, everybody knows that research on any topic is my first recommendation.

He should be reading, talking to his parts guy, his service writer, his wrench and guys who already have the mods he likes. But if I tell him that the Mikuni Worm-Jerker Kick Stand is critical, it's not a license to bolt it on immediately.

As for riding the bike first, I agree. I was musing over certain new parts for Spinner this upcoming winter. I rode the bike, and changed my mind. I will be installing an oil cooler, however--also based on riding that same bike this season.

Thats better for me anyways to hear, since I don't have alot of cash at the moment and a kid on the way. I just like to work on things to learn more and more about the actual thing I work on. Like, I love guns and am a gunsmith for fun and love working on old guns and see the workmanship that went into them. I will keep riding, the good news is that I am getting alot better and more confortable.

I agree with tyancey. Best advice you can get. Remember that when you start to mod the engine it can start to get unreliable.
Anyway you just might be happy with it the way it is.
