Hello, I just recently bought some used Screamin eagle slip on pipes for my 2011 SuperLow. Is there anyone who knows exactly how to put these on? Do I need new clamps or can I just use the stock? I got a very good deal on these, heard mixed reviews but I couldn't pass up the deal. These have no scratches or anything. Please let me know, I am new to bikes and want everything right. Thank you all for your time.

Usually slip-ons are just as the words imply. They should slip right onto the old pipe and tighten the clamps and go for a ride. That is if they are made for your model bike. Take one of the mufflers off and see if you can put your new muffler on and tighten it up. Just don't mickey mouse it on, there could be a serious problem if it does not fit right.

When ever in doubt whip it out.. the instructions!!
If you are serious about your bike invest in the shop manual and the correct tools.
No one can do as good a job as a properly motivated owner, so take your time, and make sure you wipe off ALL grease and grime and finger prints before you fire it up cause once they get hot the first time any stains will be permanent.

Can you use the factory clamps for the screamin eagle slip ons or do I need new ones? Thanks

Just put my new screamin eagle slip ons on. I am very happy with it, Not hard to put on (just taking off the old ones was the hardest). I notice a big difference in sound, but not too loud which I didn't want anyways. I don't know if they are suppose to help on performance or I just had a better day riding, but I felt like I could take off in first gear easier and more fluid and going up my driveway which is very steep felt easier. Maybe I just feel more confident with them on, but I am very happy with the change.

Yes, I used the stock clamps which were still in great shape. I had a bit of an issue with a gap in the part that the slip on fit into the actual bike part (Sorry don't know the correct name), not where the clamp goes but the hole on the slip-ons. It was a bit flared or something and made a very small gap. I got new exhaust gaskets (I thought the others were a bit too damaged) and it seemed to work and help with the problem. One question though, on my stock mufflers, they had a gasket and some kind of sealant or something that looked like mesh or steel wool looking substance, what is that? Should I get some kind of sealant to use in conjunction with the gasket? The hardest part was taking the old ones off, but I just sprayed some lubricant and worked them off. I just used a socket wrench to get the clamps and bolts off, they were very easy to reach. Very simple jobs and I feel it makes a noise difference. I think it also makes a performance difference too, but that could just be me getting more confortable with my bike.

I also made sure I wiped and cleaned the new slip-ons before taking it for a ride so the junk and fingerprints didn't get burned on. Thank you for that tip, it seems like common sense but no use having burnt blueing fingerprints on the new mufflers.

Good for you!! cause some one thought it'd be funny to put a hand print on my pipe after I cleaned it all up. I didn't notice it and yes there is a print burned into my pipe... but that's how I know it's my bike LOL, and yes that person wore my size 13 on there ass for the day.
