I own a 1997 Harley Eletra Glide Classic full dress with the 1340cc motor.How much horse power does this engine produce stock?

I've heard about 65 at the fly wheel. I think thats being generous.

That sound alittle low concidering the size of the bike.It weighs around 800lbs. I would of figured that it would have about 85-90hp.But thanks for the info I appreciate it.

I heard about 65 too.

It's actually lower. According to the latest HOG magazine--if that can be believed--a Twin Cam 96 produces 67 BHP.

Back in the day a good shovel was rated at about 45 BHP. If you consider an ever increasing improvement in motors, and the technology in efficiency, that would make the 1340 motor just about split the difference.

That's 55 BHP, and that sounds right.

The real number that's important with V-style engines in their torque figures.
