I traded the café 883 for a 2005 1200 Custom.
It's an adjustment, but I'm getting used to it.

It's a little bitter-sweet at 1st, when you lose
something you love. But I think I'll come to love
this one just as much.

I got it with a 2 year extended warranty,
so that takes some of the nerves down a bit.

It will need new tires before long.
But otherwise hopefully it's a tight machine.
No leaks seen.
It's got 19k miles on it.
And not a scratch.
A lot of beautiful chrome
and sweet looking paint job.

Now I just need to change my "call name" :icon_biggrin:

Sweet Ride!!

As with anything new, take your time getting used to it. Different positions for controls and seating and all that fun stuff.

Back seat and no sissy bar means hang on tight honey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, when ever I take a new passenger out, I make sure they understand the process of being a passenger. I can't tell you how excited a person gets to go on a ride. It's best to make sure they understand how very important it is for them to sit still and not wiggle around without permission.

Tell her to become part of the bike, she will lean as part of the bike, not as the rider. You'll find if she starts moving around back there, keeping a line in a corner becomes guesswork. Guesswork is NOT a good thing.

I'm curious to find out how the wife likes riding. Keep us posted.

Hope you have many great miles on it!!

What did you get for that sweet cafe racer?

Thanks for the encouragement.

I hate to say what the deal was for the café
because it was through the dealership.
You know how that goes.

But they wanted 4700 bottomline
to seal the deal,
and I got them down to 4k

So I felt alright with it.
