I just bought a new Superglide in April. Are there any saddlebags made for it that don't require turn signal relocation. I know I will need the saddlebag supports. Its a 2011 FXDC.

I also have a Dyna, a 2004 version. And like most folks I need/like to carry things with me from time to time.

My idea was to find some form of detachable bags or racks for short jaunts. Black Betty is customized more as a show-and-shine bike, not a touring bike. I have not found much I can rave about. (I have the same problem with my Sportster, which includes that side mounted license plate.)

However, I did notice that Harley is now offering a "convertible" bike with fittings and bags designed for easy on and off. I do not know if those fittings are standard to all Dyna models or specially made for newer bikes. You might want to check them out and see if they are a direct bolt on.

Frankly, I just gave up. Fact is I'm not touring, but my argument is circular. I have no bags so I do not tour. I then do not tour because I have no bags. I believe that MoCo does not intend the Dyna series to be a serious long distance bike, and does not support a parts inventory for their customers.

(Yes, I know 'Bronson' toured the entire country with a two gallon gas tank and two duffle bags. He also had two semi trucks full of not only cameras for filming, but also spare parks and a rudimentary machine shop. An old article said he had "an entire wall" of new chromed mufflers to keep the bike looking pristine. Ever ride a new Sportster 48? I would need a third duffle bag just for Ben-Gay and hemorrhoid ointment...)

i had a couple wide glides over the years. I found that i just put the bags and supports on when going for trip and took them off when in town. it was a pain, but it was the only solution i could find...

I've seen the "Cowboy" style that go over the passenger seat at the local swap meet for under $100.
Throw a blanket over the seat and hang the bags on it and the pass can ride on top..
