Has anyone been successful in pairng a GPS to a Bluetooth headset and then their phone to the headset?

I use the bluetooth in my helmet all the time. The GPS is in the phone. I have a plug in battery to extend the phones battery.

Usually I use it to listen to music via phone. The GPS is an app. I got it for free but there are better ones with more options for a small fee. I don't use the map or look at it - it's way too small to see at speed. It does have voice prompts and speech directions.. left in 100 yds kind of stuff.

I know that isn't what you asked but, in a pinch it is an option.

Ok. Problem solved. I paired my Tom Tom GPS to my Sena 20S helmet Bluetooth and then paired my Samsung S6 to my Sena 20S and all is good. The Sena 20S is one of the few Bluetooth devices that allows to items to run at the same time.
