Well Gang, it would appear as though I have a gremlin or two hanging on for dear life in spite of the shiny new bell dangling from my frame rail.
Out of the blue today, upon parking the bike and reaching for the ignition switch, I noticed the LEFT turn sinal indicator was steady-on.
I took a walk around the bike and found that the RIGHT rear turn/running lamp was out.
No big deal.....just a shot bulb. NOT!
Went to NAPA for an 1157 with the chromed tip, but they didn't have that type so I went with a standard 1157.
Put it in and all was well....for a while. While riding away from NAPA, I noticed that the LEFT turn signal indicator was fluttering like an epileptic butterfly on speed, and craning my neck around I was able to determine that the turn signal itself was spazi'n out as well.
I was 2-up at the time. When I pulled over and put the bike on the kickstand, the indicator went out. Wifey got off and I took the bike off the stand and the light stayed off. Wife gets back on, off the stand again and the fluttering lamp is back!
I tried this repeatedly, and each time the result was the same.
Wife off.....no problem. Wife back on......fluttering lamps again. :icon_rolleyes:
I'm thinking pinched wire under the passenger seat, but why all of a sudden? Nothing has been done to the bike (except a wash this morning).
Any ideas?........BESIDES getting rid of the wife, that is :icon_winking: .
Thanks for ponderi'n this one. I'll start looking at the bike in the morning, and any suggestions will be apreciated.

Swa

Found a nicked wire under the seat as I had expected.
All is well.

Glad to hear that you found the problem would have been real bad if you did the same thing as this guy. This is the first thing that I thought of when I read your post!
