Recently put my bike ('06 Ultra Classic) in the shop for the scheduled maintenance and had the dealership add chrome switch housings, clutch and brake levers and braided clutch and throttle cables while they had it. That being said, when I went to pick it up, the speedo and tach weren't working along with the blinker indicators on the dash. I left it at the shop and was informed it was ready to pick up today and that the problem was the deteriorated wiring to the gauges in the fairing. Went and picked it up real close to closing this evening. Took it home and noticed that things still weren't working, got my wife out to look at the brakes while I engaged the brake lever. No brake lights, no blinker indicators and no speedo and tach. Just wondering if this could possibly be a fuse or something else simple? Motor runs, have throttle, headlights, lights in rear work but no brake lights or blinkers. Will call service guys in the morning but would like to avoid another trip if it's something simple.

If the fuse is still ok - IF the bike was working properly -BEFORE- it went into the shop, then the problem lies with the people that broke it - make them fix it for free. If you paid by credit card stop the payment. Funny how Credit card companies love to make sure you the customer get satisfaction!!
Let us know how this plays out -
If it turns out you have to fix the bike yourself - the connections have to be checked, the wires - could have been cut - by accident - could be as simple as a crimp that got loose.
You can have it cheap. You can have it fast. You can have high quality. PICK ANY 2....

Will be contacting the service guy tomorrow to arrange repair. Evidently a wire may have been pinched when installing the new chrome switch housings.

That is a perfect example of why I hate to have a shop work on my bike. It's not theirs so they really don't care. Just do the job as quick and cheaply as possible. And hope you don't complain. I hate that. If I could do everything they'd never see my bike but I can't. I dread those times.

I have had such a mixed bag of experiences with HD dealerships. Not all of them bad but most of them bad once my straight up service manager contact/freind up and relocated to another dealership in another state, far away. He covered my 6 big time and treated me first class all the way. Hasn't been the same since he left.
Got a call/message (while I was sleeping) from the new service manager at my local HD dealership advising that I was gonna be sent an evaluation form and they are hoping for a good review. Depending where its being sent when I'm done will depend if I fill it out or not. While they say we care about your opinion what they really mean is we only care if its good. Even the main MOCO website kept deleting my honest experince about a product. It was a shit piece but the MOCO web site wouldn't allow my comment to fly.
I'm not negative, just honest.

Well looks to be a good ending to all of this. Took it to the dealership and showed them the blinker switch. They agreed and then detected the pinched wire, sanded an edge off the housing which evidently fixed the problem. Picked the bike up yesterday and now all is working as it should.

glad I could help to get you to a point of finding what it was. I think it is unbelieveable that a manufacturer would use a fuse labeled accessoriery for primary safety circuts. DEERSLAYER
