Hello all.
This is all new to me and I'm hoping to benefit from this, especially in maintenance / repairs.
Anyway, my name is Fred Decker, I ride a 2002 Road King.....hence 'KingDecker'. Bought my ride at Hollister Harley Davidson back in 2001 when I lived there for 8 years. I can honestly say it was the best purchase I ever made. All the service / repairs done to my ride have been by authorized HD dealers, primarily House of Thunder in Morgan Hill (aka Hollister HD). As I'm sure we all know, service/maintenance costs at dealerships are expensive especially when you service them faithfully at 'dealer recommended' intervals. I have never performed any type of mechanical service on my ride except for a oil/filter change....1 time. I'm not ignorant nor is my mechanical knowledge limited. However, all my know how is related to 'autos'....not bikes. I very much desire to do my own HD service / repairs...as much as possible. That's why I'm here. Thanks for your time and for listening to my 'babble'. Take care all....God bless.

dkingdecker,
Your handle has a good ring to it. King Decker :icon_toocool: Good to have you here. Post what you need and you will get some answers. I think that everyone that owns a bike should know how to fix it. First thing that I would do is to get the service manual.
This will tell you everything you need to know about your bike and they are only around $60 from the dealer.
