Hey Chris Welcome to the forum and your 40 years in the saddle! I'm sure that you have some stories to tell. Looking forward to hearing about them.

Just sitting here thinking about my Dad. He rode WLA's at Camp Hood (Now Fort Hood) Texas back in '41 as an M.P. before he went to Europe. Had a scar on his right hand between his thumb and pointing finger where the broken throttle cable of a '28 Indian poked through when he laid it down in a curve (dirt road, I think they were all dirt back then) in 1930. Bought my first bike when I was 18 and kept it in Dad's garage cause I had none. He got off work before me and almost every evening when I would get to his house he and the bike would be gone. finally gave him that bike and bought myself another one. He and I went to the last "Aspencade" in Ruidoso, New Mexico in '81. Till Thompson who owned Aspencade sold it to Malcom Forbes who moved it to New York the next year. Dad could sit a saddle longer than any man I ever rode with. I would see him smiling when I stood up on the pegs to get some air under my butt. We rode a lot together, wouldn't trade those memories for anything. Dad sold his last bike when he was 81 and passed away just before his 85th birthday. Wish he could see my Ultra, maybe he can.
